India's daily COVID-19 cases at all-time of 1.45 lakh

TOG NEWS SERVICE, NEW DELHI, APR 10, 2021: CONTINUING the upward trajectory, daily COVID-19 cases in India surged to an all-time high to 1,45,384 fresh infections, taking the tally of confirmed cases to 1,32,05,926 on Saturday, including over 10.46 lakh active cases.

Maharashtra reported the highest daily new cases of 58,993, followed by Chhattisgarh with 11,447 while Uttar Pradesh reported 9,587 new cases in the last 24 hours.

With Saturday's rise, the active cases reached 10,46,631, which is 7.93 per cent of the total cases. Maharashtra alone accounts for 51.23 per cent of the total active caseload in the country, with Pune district reporting over 1 lakh active cases, followed by Mumbai with 88,053.

Daily fatalities also continued the upward trend as 794 deaths were reported, taking the toll to 1,68,436.

The gap between daily infections and daily recoveries continued to widen as India recorded 77,567 discharges in the last 24 hours. The national recovery rate is 90.80 per cent and the cumulative figures at 1,19,90,859.

Meanwhile, the Health Ministry said over 9.80 crore COVID-19 vaccines have been administered in the country.

According to the Indian Council of Medical Research (ICMR), over 11.73 lakh samples have been tested on Friday, and over 25 crore samples have been tested so far.
