Oxygen Express crosses 26,000 tonne LMO delivery milestone

TOG NEWS SERVICE, NEW DELHI, JUN 07, 2021: THE Indian Railway's Oxygen Express trains have delivered more than 26,281 tonne of Liquid Medical Oxygen (LMO) in 376 trips carrying 1,534 tankers to provide relief to 15 states, the national transporter said on Sunday.

Six loaded Oxygen Express are currently on the run with more than 483 tonne of LMO in 26 tankers.

" Overcoming all hurdles and finding new solutions, Indian Railways is continuing its journey of bringing relief by delivering LMO to various States across the country ," said a statement.

The Southern States of Tamil Nadu and Karnataka received more than 3,000 tonne of LMO each, with over 2,800 tonne offloaded in Andhra Pradesh.

Relief by these trains has reached out to 39 cities and towns, including Delhi (5,790 tonne), Uttar Pradesh (3,797 tonne), Tamil Nadu (3,237 tonne), Karnataka (3,097 tonne), Andhra Pradesh (2,804 tonne), Telangana (2,474 tonne), Haryana (2,212 tonne), Madhya Pradesh (656 tonne), Maharashtra (614 tonne), Kerala (513 tonne), Assam (400 tonne), Uttarakhand (320 tonne), Punjab (225 tonne), Rajasthan (98 tonne), and Jharkhand (38 tonne).
