53rd Oxygen Express arrives in Tamil Nadu

TOG NEWS SERVICE, NEW DELHI, JUN 08, 2021: THE Indian Railways said they have delivered 3,608.99 tonne of Liquid Medical Oxygen (LMO) through 53 Oxygen Express trains to Tamil Nadu. An Oxygen Express with two tankers carrying 32.38 tonne of LMO arrived at Coimbatore on Monday.

The Railways' Oxygen Express service has delivered more than 26,891 tonne of LMO in more than 1,567 tankers to 15 States, with 384 trains completing their journey so far.

Among the southern States, Andhra Pradesh received 2,800 tonne of LMO and Karnataka 3,200 tonne. Kerala has received 513 tonne while another 2,474 tonne has been offloaded in Telangana.

" It is Indian Railways endeavour to deliver as much LMO as possible in the shortest time possible to the requesting states ," said an official statement.

Railways has provided oxygen relief to 15 states so far – Delhi (5,864 tonne), Uttar Pradesh (3,797 tonne), Tamil Nadu (3,609 tonne), Karnataka (3,214 tonne), Andhra Pradesh (2,882 tonne), Telangana (2,474 tonne), Haryana (2,212 tonne), Madhya Pradesh (656 tonne), Maharashtra (614 tonne), Kerala (513 tonne), Assam (400 tonne), Uttarakhand (320 tonne), Punjab (225 tonne), Rajasthan (98 tonne), and Jharkhand (38 tonne).
